Html5 Color cycling

Color cycling is a technology often used in 8-bit video games during the 90's to achieve interesting visual effects by cycling (shifting) the color palette. Back then video cards could only render 256 colors at a time, so a palette of selected colors was used. Sometimes I think the internet is a really bizarre place. Take Cheer up Keanu Reeves for example. It started as a thread on reddit. Its a couple pictures of him eating lunch snapped by a paparazzi. In the pics it looks like he got the wrong order, as in this taste more like tuna salad than egg salad. Then it turned into one of those golden internet memes, it was everywhere: on gossip sites, message boards, tumblr blogs, a facebook page. The story was picked up by Time, Today I saw a funny or die video. I can't imagine how Keanu Reeves feels about all of the attention, it is probably a little bitter sweet. But interestingly one of the things that helped propel the meme was the fact that Keanu Reeves is a pretty amazing guy as stories surfaced of him giving away 50 million pounds to the costume and special effects teams.
